Will I Need to Sell Everything?

If you own assets that are worth something and the trustee might be able to sell, you might consider selling them.  Only sell non-exempt assets. Click here for a list of bankruptcy exemptions in Arizona!

When you sell your assets, consider the following:

  • Sell at a fair price.  If you sell to someone you know.  You will need explain how you determined the price.
  • Try not to repay debts owed to family if you are considering bankruptcy.  You can wait till after the bankruptcy to pay them.
  • Tell your attorney what you have sold.  It’s better to tell him what you plan on selling to make sure it’s O.K.  He will need to mention what you sell in your bankruptcy petition.
